Emergency repairs begin on Tunstall Church’s stained-glass windows

Emergency conservation work has begun on two of the church’s historic stained-glass windows after it was discovered that they had become unstable and were at risk of collapse.

The windows have now been carefully removed from their openings so that they can be repaired and preserved. As the photographs show, removing such delicate pieces of stained glass is a painstaking process, requiring considerable care and expertise.

This important work will help protect the windows from further deterioration and ensure that they can be enjoyed by future generations.

We will share further photographs and updates as the repairs progress and look forward to seeing the windows safely returned to their places in the church.
